In the office, I’m fond of declaring that a bad decision on Monday makes more money than a good decision on Friday. — Chelsea Bloxsome

This quote is from The Rule Breaker’s Book of Business: Win at work by doing things differently, and I found out that it’s really useful advice to deal with my daily life situations: studying, working, or living.

Save my time ⏳

In our daily life, we have to make a lot of decisions. What movie should I watch? Should I go to a gym today? Read the email and reply later?

Making decisions and acting on them fast save my time a lot. One thing is done, my brain has more space to process the next task. And I feel good to accomplish many small tasks in a day.

However, if I postponed the decision or add it to the Do-it-later list, I will need to look at it again eventually. In this case, I wasted my time twice, and take a longer time to decide because I have to recall my old context, and develop the decision on it.

Move things forward 🚀

At work, I sometimes choose to postpone my decision because I need more time to make it perfect, and afraid of judgment from a bad decision. And sometimes I spent too much time crafting my decision and it was a bad decision, it was worse than a quick bad decision.

Recently, I learned that with current data in my hands, making the best decision from it immediately is the best decision-making method for me. No need to be sorry later, because it’s the best decision at that time.

By acting fast, people can see you move things forward and respect that you move things happens even if it isn’t a perfect decision.

Don’t need to wait for a perfect moment, decide it and be ready for impact.
